The Sunflower is mine, in a way- Vincent van Gogh

I don’t know how generous a man can be if his hard-earned money and expensive clothes can be distributed among the workers, or if as
a lover, cut off his ear and give it as a gift to his beloved?

A Different Life for a Different Artist

These are unusual for our common people. If someone does such a thing, getting angry or feeling crazy would be completely normal. But the definition of life may be different for a child who grew up seeing his name on a grave or for someone who suffers from his own non-existence while searching for
the existence of a dead brother.
.

Maybe that’s why they can live a lonely life without family, only 10
years of artist life 2,100 works of art, of which 60 can be painted in oil
. And at the age of 37 can decide to committed suicide with massive sadness.

Vincent Van Gogh: The Tormented Artist

Yes that restless, crazy neglected artist is Vincent William Van Gogh.
He was born on March 30, 1853 at Zundart in the Netherlands. He was able to sell only one of his
paintings in his lifetime just with a little price. “The Starry Night” is
currently the second most iconic painting in the world, after the Mona
Lisa
. Among the 10 most famous paintings are 2/3 of Van Gogh’s
paintings, One of the paintings sold for hundreds of billions of dollars.
But in his lifetime, those who had to endure financial hardships, had
to live on his younger brother’s money.

He had been despised and neglected by all Relatives, family,
friends, neighbors. Anyone whom he wanted to drew close as a
friend in life has hit him and pushed him away. The only exception is
the 4 years younger brother Theo Van Gogh. Who provided financial
support as well as emotional support and inspiration to the artist Van
Gogh
.

The letter exchanged between them shows the impression of
friendship and sincerity between the two brothers.
Theo seemed to
be trying to keep Vincent safe, not just as a brother but as a child.
That’s why when he got the news of Vincent’s suicide attempt, he ran
to his brother and stayed by his side at the last moment.. Within a
year of Vincent’s death, Theo also passed out.

A source of inspiration

Vincent van Gogh is not just the name of an artist but the name of an
inspiration.
Who inspires every art student in the midst of family,
social, political, economic problems and negligence . Being an art
student, I also had the good fortune to know about his life and work.
Mine!

A Visit to the Van Gogh Museum

This short-lived man, who died more than 100 years before I was
born, seems very familiar and close to me. And that’s why I went to
Amsterdam to see the Van Gogh Museum. The feeling of seeing Van
Gogh’s works from the front is different, which cannot be felt by
reading books or looking at pictures.

I’m sure no one will be able to control their depression if they stand in front of Vincent van Gogh’s latest painting, “Wheatfield with Crows.”.Hundreds of people come to this museum every day by queuing or buying tickets online. Many are disappointed not to get tickets. The Dutch government makes a
lot of money by selling tickets, reproductions of paintings, gift items
and bags.
But one thing makes me think a lot ….

Why Vincent left his country, why he chose being from a church pastor to a coal worker’s life, he took refuge in art from a picture seller? He spent the last few years of his life in Arles, a small town in France.

His paintings and every stroke of the brush paint a picture of his inner
conflict and instability.
Although Impressionism had a direct effect on his early works, but his brush strokes and coloring gradually outperformed Impressionism. Towards the end let it move more unrestrainedly, drawing or
As if playing with colors, he would go to another world or into a trance.

Simplicity Raised to the Rank of Art

He did not paint on anything as serious as “Guernica“, “Adam’s creation
or “Last supper” , but rather sunflowers, chairs, meadows, gardens,
starry nights, night coffee shops, and peasant families eating
potatoes
. Like he has taken simple things to new heights through his
style of drawing. It is as if he had painted his daily life on canvas.

A Pilgrimage to Arles

One day I must go to Arles, to see if that night cafe or yellow
bedroom is still there
. I don’t know but there is the wheat field. I will
walk to the wheat field and the sea shore.

In the air surely Vincent van Gogh’s fragrance will still be there, the crows in
the field will still be flying same as before, surely they still haven’t
forgotten him …. Still maybe that’s how the night goes, they’re full
Dreamy nights and distant church bells ring ………
